G-VELD to Manila

G-VELD departed to Manila the 27th July for maintenance by Lufthansa Technic. This means that there will only be 3 A340-300's in service at Heathrow until it returns. This may be being covered by G-VINE that recently returned from Ryan International. It could also mean that it is having the maintenance before it is withdrawn from the Virgin Atlantic fleet. We will have to wait and see what happens but it is not likely that it will be withdrawn just yet as it was painted into the new livery at Manchester not so long ago.
