Virgin Atlantic gain slots

Virgin Atlantic have announced that they have gained the 12 slots that were forced to be Ivan up by British Airways because of the BA/BMI merge. The slots that are at London Heathrow will be used to operate more domestic flights along with the earlier announced London Heathrow to Manchester services (this was able with slots that the airline leased out and the lease ending). The new services will be to Edinburgh and Aberdeen. The schedules for these services have not yet been announced but they are likely to be announced within the next 2 weeks.

Virgin Atlantic will be starting their Sort Haul Flights at the start of the 2013 summer timetable on the 31st March 2013 using both A319 and A320 aircraft.

The previously announced Heathrow to Manchester service is scheduled to operate with a sole A319, however, with more short haul services, A320's may appear on the route and plane spotters at Manchester won't see the same A319 again and again!
