Virgin Atlantic to fly to Manchester from Heathrow

Virgin Atlantic have announced that from March 2013 they will start a 3 times daily service to Manchester from London Heathrow using an Airbus A319. This is guessed to be wet leased but that is not certain. The flights will operate out of Heathrow Terminal 1 and arrive into Manchester's Terminal 3. This will be the first time that Virgin Atlantic have flown to other destinations in the UK and are hoping to receive the 12 slots that BA were forced to give up after acquiring BMI from Lufthansa. They will use those slots and other slots that they have leased out to other airlines, to expand in their regional destinations and hope to bring more passengers in to Heathrow to connect on to America.

The Heathrow to Manchester service will operate between the 31st March and 26th October 2013 on this schedule.
